Chattanooga Swing and Lindy presents an awesome night of swing era dancing on Saturday, July 11th. We’re working in conjunction with Create Here, a local group that is dedicated to enriching Chattanooga’s community of art and cultural development. They are letting us use their wonderful studio space located in down town Chattanooga at 55 E Main Street.

We’ll be having a beginner lesson starting at 7:30pm with dancing starting at 8:30. Admission is $6 and the event is open to all ages. Please come out, dance, have fun and support swing dancing in Chattanooga.

We host a dance at Rio Picante (located next to the I-Max downtown) every Thursday. Lessons start at 8:30pm followed by dancing until close. Our events are open to all ages and no partner is required. We typically do a mix of Swing and Latin music with special guest DeAngelo Jelks occasionally coming in to teach Salsa. There is no cover charge; lessons and dance are free. Come out and dance with us!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Chattanooga Market, it’s a tradition dating back for years, here in Chattanooga, where local farmers, artisans and entertainers gather every Sunday during the spring and summer months. It’s a great family event, free and open to everyone. This Sunday is Big Band Day. There will be several major big bands from around the Chattanooga and Georgia area plus a full dance floor! Come out and help us promote Chattanooga Swing by dancing, handing out flyers and promoting our Thursday events.

Dubbed one of Chattanooga’s best kept secrets, the Monday Nite Big Band has been playing big band jazz music in Chattanooga for over 40 years. Founded by pianist and band leader Paul Lohorn, the group features area Chattanooga musicians both professional and semi-professional.

Come join us for an awesome night of music and dancing. The band starts playing at 7:30 and we teach beginner East Cost Swing lessons between the band’s two sets.
