The Monday Nite Big Band will be playing at the Lindsey Street Hall Monday December 7th at 7:30pm. This is an amazing fifteen piece jazz band with a beautiful sound. They’ll be playing in the newly restored Lindsey Street Hall. Admission is free.

We will be teaching a free beginner swing dance lesson between the band’s sets. Come out and dance with us!

Swingfest is yearly event held by the Chattanooga Downtown Partnership which features several live big bands in Coolidge Park. Sweet George Sound brings a portable stage to the event, setup in front of the band for all the dancers. Help us use this as an opportunity to promote Chattanooga Swing and Lindy by hanging out flyers for our regular events.

Kick off your Labor Day weekend with an evening full of music and dancing as the Chattanooga Downtown Partnership presents Swingfest on Saturday, September 5, in Coolidge Park. The event begi at 5:30 p.m. with FREE swing dance lessons, followed by performances by some of Chattanooga’s largest swing orchestras.

We host a dance at Rio Picante (located next to the I-Max downtown) every Thursday. Lessons start at 8:30pm followed by dancing until close. Our events are open to all ages and no partner is required. We typically do a mix of Swing and Latin music with special guest DeAngelo Jelks occasionally coming in to teach Salsa. There is no cover charge; lessons and dance are free. Come out and dance with us!

Come join us on Saturday August 15th as Chris Crawford and Kristin Fisher invite you to spend an afternoon with them sharing in their love of Lindy Hop. They will be presenting a solid introduction to Lindy Hop for beginners and a few of the no-so-usual moves for the more experienced.

If coming from Hixson/North, take Highway 153 to the Jersey Pike exit. Take a right from the offramp onto Jersey Pike and then take another right onto Cromwell Drive. Turn right into the first office complex and follow the parking lot to the back. Chattanooga Dancesport is located in the building at the end of the complex before the storage yard.

If coming from downtown Chattanooga, Take 27 South and then I-24 East. Take I-75 North toward Knoxville at the split. Take the exit for Highway 153 toward the Airport/Dam. Exit on Jersey Pike, take a left at the bottom of the offramp and take a right onto Cromwell Drive. Follow directions above.

Dubbed one of Chattanooga’s best kept secrets, the Monday Nite Big Band has been playing big band jazz music in Chattanooga for over 40 years. Founded by pianist and band leader Paul Lohorn, the group features area Chattanooga musicians both professional and semi-professional.

Chattanooga Swing and Lindy presents an awesome night of swing era dancing on Saturday, July 11th. We’re working in conjunction with Create Here, a local group that is dedicated to enriching Chattanooga’s community of art and cultural development. They are letting us use their wonderful studio space located in down town Chattanooga at 55 E Main Street.

We’ll be having a beginner lesson starting at 7:30pm with dancing starting at 8:30. Admission is $6 and the event is open to all ages. Please come out, dance, have fun and support swing dancing in Chattanooga.
